Job Summary:
The Community officer will play a pivotal role in expanding our volunteer base across key areas in Australia. This position involves recruiting, training, and overseeing volunteers who will represent the Veteran Games at events and in their communities. The Community Officer will ensure that volunteers are well-equipped and motivated to drive awareness of the Veteran Games, cultivate community engagement, and build teams in their respective areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment Support: Identify and recruit suitable volunteers to serve as Veteran Games representatives.
- Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new volunteers, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Training: Assist in the training of volunteers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively represent the Veteran Games.
- Volunteer Kits: Ensure that each volunteer receives a comprehensive volunteer kit, which includes a shirt, hat, tablecloth, banner, and informational booklets.
- Oversight: Monitor and provide support to volunteers throughout the year, checking in regularly to offer assistance and guidance as needed.
- Primary Point of Contact: Act as the main point of contact for volunteers, addressing any questions or concerns that may arise.
- Motivation: Create a positive and motivating environment for volunteers, encouraging engagement and enthusiasm for their roles.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in volunteer coordination or community engagement is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with the veteran community and issues affecting veterans is a plus.
- Proficiency in using google suite.
