Job Summary:
The Veteran Games Community Representative will serve as the local ambassador for the Veteran Games, focusing on attending community expos and relevant events to promote the Veteran Games. This role aims to engage with the local community to raise awareness about the Veteran Games and encourage participation among veteran teams. Representatives will be the face of the Veteran Games, cultivating community connections and driving enthusiasm for the initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Participation: Identify and attend key events in your area to represent the Veteran Games and promote its mission.
- Community Engagement: Act as the Veteran Games representative at any organised community events, actively engaging with attendees to share information about the Veteran Games and its benefits.
- Promotion: Drive awareness of the Veteran Games within the local veteran community and encourage veterans to form teams and participate.
- Networking: Build relationships within the community and connect with local organisations to enhance the reach and impact of the Veteran Games.
- Feedback: Gather feedback from community members and participants if necessary, to inform the organisation and improve future events.
Must-Haves:
- Interest in Physical Sport: A strong interest in physical activity and the ability to communicate confidently about the Veteran Games.
- Veteran Status: Must be a veteran, a connection to the veteran community is ideal.
- Health and Wellbeing Focus: A personal commitment to your own health and wellbeing.
- Self-Motivation and Discipline: The ability to work independently, demonstrating motivation and discipline in representing the organisation.
- Drive: A proactive approach to promoting the Veteran Games and engaging the community.
- Familiarity with the Veteran Community: Knowledge and understanding of the unique needs and culture of the veteran community.
- People Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to socialise and connect with others.
