What others are saying
Yes yes yes, if I was younger I would certainly sign up to a team and have a go. Great doco Heston, the camaraderie with the Guys and Girls was awesome just like I remember when I served. Well done to all who participated and volunteered to make the Veteran Games a possibility.
My wholehearted congratulations to Heston and the amazing hero’s who competed in these Veteran Games.
This initiative has shown how important it is to address veteran mental health and the way to go about it.
It was a joy to watch the camaraderie from individual veterans who previously did not know their team mates and then see them join as a team.
The Federal Government needs to stand up and be counted starting with a considerable grant to next years events.
Congratulations again, this is a game change, well done and keep it going.
What a fabulous innovation and congratulations on pulling it together (despite the non existence of government support-shame on them they couldn't find any of our taxpayer dollars to offset costs).
The veterans certainly grabbed the opportunity to compete and it was inspiring to see the spirit they displayed throughout.
As an 81 year old with an uncle K.I.A. in France in WW1, a father who enlisted in WWII but fortunately never left our shores, and a grandson now serving in the ADF it made me proud to watch and listen to those men who have also served and appear determined to better their lives by becoming involved in the games.
May the concept continue to develop and go from strength to strength as it appears it will.
Maybe the next games i will get a chance to come and watch if held again at the Numinbah Valley.
All the very best to everyone.
Well done.
Thoroughly enjoyed the doco and it was great to see the camaraderie.
As a Vietnam Vet I wish I could still do what took place but alas the years have taken their toll.
I particularly resonated when one of the competitors said that when they came together it was just like you’d seen each other the day before – I get the same feeling now when I get the opportunity to catch up with guys I served with some 54 years ago
Congrats to the entire Veteran Games team! What an incredible experience for everyone involved.
Ok, I’m hooked! I’ll find out what I have to do to join you next year.
Absolutely inspiring ❤️🙏❤️ Deeply moving and eye opening - Bravo.
